Pristine

I laugh hysterically because August has come back around for everyone and the only thing that is more comedic than that is the solid fact that it’s been a year since the beginning of what feels to be never ending. I wrote my last words, said my goodbyes, settled in back home, I’ve revisited old friends and even made new ones. I’m back as a functioning normal person, with a normal job, normal commitments, homework, tests to study for, plans, errands to run—I even wake up with an occasional hangover. Yet, today is August 27th and I’m still looking for the perfect universal synonym to convey everything that’s been experienced between now and then. For those who met me in the middle of Laxmi Road, you know what I’m talking about and for those who are about to embark on that same journey—I see you. I see you on the edge of it all and not to ruin it for you, it’s going to be a kind of pristine beauty you’ve yet to find.
A kind of pristine beauty that was meant to be yours all along.
Cheers, to the 2017 cohort! I hope you find what you were looking for.
